Those 5 years were my foundation for including fitness into my lifestyle. Mixed into that foundation was martial arts training with my dad that started when I was 2 years old. My dad would also have 30 days ab challenges with me. I played tennis and danced all 4 years of college. Post college I continued to teach dance, kids fitness, pole fitness, ballroom dance, and stayed in the gym on my own accord.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;Well, years of being active and just the way I&amp;#8217;m designed caught up to me in 2011. My back and hip hurt me so badly, I had trouble walking. My hip had previously been injured during undergrad, so I was extra concerned about it. I could no longer spend time in the gym how I used to and I lost a lot of my strength and flexibility. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;After having cortisone shots and radio frequency ablation on my spine along with chiropractic treatment, I am now able to rebuild my strength and flexibility. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I&amp;#8217;ve added more weight lifting into my workout and flexibility training.
